Bright Florals on the Savannah Riverwalk

As we made our way to North Carolina this past week the weather was not being very cooperative (Hurricane Arthur was no ones friend on the east coast this last 4th of July weekend,) so we decided to play it safe, stay off the roads during the rainy weather, and make an extra stop along the way. We ended up in Augusta Georgia which is right on the border of Georgia and South Carolina, and happens to sit delightfully at the fall line of the beautiful Savannah River.

The hotel we stayed in for the night was located right next to the Riverwalk Augusta park which looked like something straight out of a Reece Witherspoon movie, so naturally we had to explore.

This little slice of southern heaven was way too beautiful not to share a few non-fashion related picture with you all. Travis and I watched the sunset on the river that evening and it was simply breathtaking.

There was a pink house sitting along the other side of the river bank nestled in between all the other charming homes that lined the great Savannah. So, if you know me, then you know that it immediately caught my attention. I now officially want a pink house; I don't care if it sits by a lake, a river, on a beach, or just down an old dirt road, but I want one.
We decided to eat dinner at a lovely restaurant attached to the hotel, so I took the opportunity to wear a fun and flirty floral dress (which I happen to have found at Marshall's.) I brought this adorable little number along on this trip with me because I thought it would be the perfect summer dress for all that humid southern weather. We chose to eat on the patio so we could take in the scenery and so sweet Minky could join us of course. Our waitress was so sweet she even brought Minky a bowl of water to enjoy as she lounged in the chair next to mine. (yes I know, my dog is a tad spoiled.)

This sun hat that has lived in my closet longer than I can remember, balances out the pop of pink on my feet.
I am so in love with the bow detail on the back of this little sun-dress.

I decided to add a bright green handbag to bring out the playful colors in the dress. This one is Marc by Marc Jacobs.

These suede pink heels by Jessica Simpson have been a long time favorite of mine.
I had to throw in this last shot because I just thought the reflection of the Savannah River in my newest Ray-Ban sunnies is way too cool not to share.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Feeling Fierce...Taking a Statement Tank From Day to Night

Nothing is quite as casually chic right now in the fashion world as a statement tee. I've currently been obsessed with wearing these little wordy tops just about anywhere and everywhere I go this summer. Since this has been such a staple in my wardrobe as of late, I thought I would do a quick post on how I take my statement tank from day to night.
When I recently came across a darling new online boutique called LouLuLux that specializes in statement tanks and extreme cuteness, I was instantly excited. I saw this "Fierce" tank on their site and I just couldn't pass it up. You can find it HERE
The sweet shop owner  Evanne, who happens to be the designer behind this awesome top is also a fellow fashion blogger who I have quickly come to admire. I just love following along with her personal style, and I know you will to, so be sure to check out her fashion blog: loululux
You can also follow Loululux on Instagram {loululux} so you don't miss out on any sales or new products that are sure to be just as dazzling as this little tank top.
For a more casual look during the day time, I wear this tank with my favorite pair of American Eagle Boyfriend jeans. {Buy them Here}

I love statement tanks like this one not only because they are so easy to wear, but they can be so versatile. You can throw on this top with just about anything and it's an instant on-trend ensemble.
Lovely little tops like this one are so fun to dress up too. Throw on a simple mini skirt you adore and your favorite pair of heels (mine happen to be my Valentino Rockstuds, find them HERE) and you are officially ready for a fabulous night out on the town.

This tank is available in sizes from extra small to extra large right now on LouLuLux.com ...and what's even better than finding this fab tank online? Getting 25% off your ENTIRE order until this Friday at midnight! Just use code: fabphil

Red, white, and Blue in Old Town Alabama

My hubby and I happen to be going to North Carolina to celebrate the 4th with his family, so I'm actually writing this post as we road trip along the picturesque, tree-lined Dixie highways.
Although our trip is a long one (Texas to North Carolina is quite the drive,) we've managed to find time to stop a few places along the way to take in the scenery and a little bit of southern history. When we drove through Montgomery today I couldn't help myself, I had to see the refurbished historical district of Old Town Alabama.
With homes and buildings restored to their origins dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries when Alabama was first settled, this beautiful array of architecture is 6 blocks of charming American history. In all my excitement of seeing such an interesting place, I didn't get any architectural pictures to share with you but I did manage to take just a few pictures of yet another 4th of July inspired look (because I just can't get enough of the red, white, and blue cuteness this year y'all!)

Our sweet little dog Minky joined us on this trip. (If you are wondering where our Yorkie Hank is, he's on a vacation of his own at a local and absolutely adorable pet resort called Barkaritaville.) She just loved walking around the historic neighborhood and of course getting attention from all the people she met while we were there.

My Dress is a great little find I picked up at my local Marshall's

I just love layering statement necklaces; I think it give an extra pop to any outfit. These two are from Charming Charlie's and Francesca's.

These vibrant red shoes that balance out the likewise hued necklace have the cutest gold detail above the heel, which I just love! They are from Aldo.

Happy 4th to you and yours!
Thanks for stopping by my friends.
